Hello again, it’s me Joseph and I’m on the move; getting ready for the fabulous Rochester NY Festivals. Rest assured dear reader, that there are more events than we’ll list here. We’re just sharing some of our favorites here, especially ones that are a hop, skip and jump from our PineappleRoc properties.

The Lilac Festival

May 10th to May 19th

It’s back to it’s original format: 10 days of GARDENS, MUSIC, ART, FOOD, RACES AND MORE! The music has a twist this year as the focus is on inde bands that write their own songs as opposed to bands that cover music from other artists. (stay in Highland Park Experience)

Rochester International Jazz Fesitval

June 21st- June 29th

Another multi day festival and you can buy passes for this one as some of the events require a ticket. You’ll still have plenty of opportunites for free music too. So many venues, artists, and foodie fun! 21 years of all that jazz! (stay in the South Wedge Quarter! #jazztheme or at the East Ave Carriage House)

Corn Hill Arts Festival

July 13th and 14th

This two day festival is a wonderful weekend just waiting to happen. Fifty six years of art, music and fun as they share on the website: This two-day Festival has become a fabric of the Rochester community over the years. The Festival, which takes place over nine streets, will showcase hundreds of artists from across the country, as well as talented musicians from near and far. We encourage you to mark your calendars and invite your family and friends because you won’t want to miss the return of this beloved Festival! (South Wedge Retreat, South Wedge Loft– you decide)

Rochester Pride Festival

Saturday, July 20th

They’ve changed the venue but the message is the same: everyone is welcome here! Highland Park will be host to the festivities and also where the parade ends up!

You can be you: “We are committed to empowering ALL local LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies. We condemn all forms of discrimination and hate – especially concerning sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity and ability. In all of our events, we strive to create safe, open spaces where all participants can feel comfortable to be their authentic selves.

There will be:

  • Food, wine & beer
  • Games and activities
  • Vendor tables
  • Live music and performances

General admission tickets are $5 and VIP tickets are $50. Kids under 12 are free!

Park Avenue Summer Stroll

Saturday August 3rd

The Park Avenue Merchants Association has gotten creative and has organized its own kind of festival. (If you’ve ever been to the Holiday Open House, you know!) You can stroll along the avenue and support local business and at the same time enjoy the usual festival festivities: “Restaurants, retail establishments and services on the avenue will be featured.  Artist vendors will be located on the RMSC grounds (accessible from Park Avenue) and on the TES Staffing grounds (located at 600 Park Avenue).  Children’s activities will be offered on the Park Avenue Green (corner of Park and Barrington streets) along with live music throughout the day. Visit 10 shops and be entered in a raffle for the chance to win gift cards to some of your favorite shops on the avenue! There will be no street closures, however businesses have outdoor activities and events for all to enjoy.

Speaking of favorite shops, The Funky Cow Cafe on 647 Park Ave is a must stop for sweet and savory goodness like you’ve never had before. Come for the sample, leave with waffle love.

(Check out our waterfront collection: Sandbox Hideaway, Water’s Edge, Queen’s Cottage. In Rochester, everything is easily accessible and you’ll want to chase a sunset)

Clothesline Arts Festival

This festival is the largest fund raiser for the Memorial Art Gallery and one of our properties is right across the street! NOTA549. If you love art and ammenties, book now!

Over 300 artists from across the country offer their work for purchase at this juried, two-day festival that takes place on the beautiful grounds of the Memorial Art Gallery. Clothesline is also the place to experience all-day live entertainment, sample food from some of Rochester’s favorite food trucks and vendors, enjoy free family art activities, and visit the museum.
