Hello again, it’s me Joseph and I’m on the move! Ladies and gentlemen, spring is springing which means festival season is just around the corner. These festivals are back #takethatCovid and they’re better than ever. Forget the three weekend Lilac Festival– 10 days baby! (Jazz Fest, Fringe Fest too! ) One of the reasons so many love Rochester is that we celebrate what makes us unique in so many ways. Here’s the Rochester NY 2023 Festivals Line Up! (Honestly, it’s only the beginning of the list but it’s enough to get you dreaming and booking your next adventure!)
May 12-21, 2023
10:30am – 8:30pm
“The Rochester Lilac Festival is the largest free festival of its kind in North America welcoming spring in Upstate NY. We invite you to experience the 125th edition: 10 consecutive days of celebrating North America’s largest collection of lilacs, featuring more than 1800 bushes and over 500 different varieties. Peek around every corner and you’ll discover magnificent gardens and exhilarating special events.
Whether you’re a regular visitor or first-time Festival-goer, you’ll quickly discover that every day brings something new to experience at the world-famous Rochester Lilac Festival.”
June 23 to July 1st
“The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival (RIJF) is one of the world’s leading jazz festivals presenting legendary performers, familiar favorites, rising stars, and new discoveries from around the world.
RIJF is synonymous with Jazz in June when the joy of music brings the world to Rochester, New York. The multi-dimensional nine-day festival presents more than 1750 artists annually from around the world in 325+ shows at 20 venues. “
July 8 and 9, 2023.
“This two-day Festival has become a fabric of the Rochester community over the years and we are excited to be back. The Festival, which takes place over nine streets, will showcase hundreds of artists from across the country, as well as talented musicians from near and far. We encourage you to mark your calendars and invite your family and friends because you won’t want to miss the return of this beloved Festival!”

Saturday, August 19th
11:00 am to 6 pm.
“The mission of South Wedge Fest 2023 is to bring the community together to celebrate the uniqueness of the South Wedge while having fun.
You will have the chance to visit local artists, vendors, food trucks, and the eclectic businesses on South Ave, while grooving to a line-up of homegrown bands.”
September 9 and 10th
“The M&T Bank Clothesline Festival has been MAG’s largest annual fundraiser and biggest celebration of the arts for more than 60 years. Over 375 artists from across the country offer their work for purchase at this juried, two-day festival that takes place on the beautiful grounds of the Memorial Art Gallery. Clothesline is also the place to experience all-day live entertainment, sample food from some of Rochester’s favorite food trucks and vendors, enjoy free family art activities, and visit the museum.”
September 12th to 23rd
“Since debuting in 2012, the Fringe has drawn more than a half-million visitors from all over the world to more than 4,000 diverse performances and events. In fact, Rochester’s not-for-profit Fringe has become one of the largest and most successful fringe festivals in the nation, the largest multidisciplinary performing arts festival in New York State, and one of the region’s most anticipated festivals each year.”
